This annual beach side rite is held in honour of Yemaya around the first full moon of each new calendar year. For 2021, this full moon falls on Friday, 29 January so the 2021 Yemaya Blessing of the Waters will be taking place the evening before, on Thursday, 28 January 2021.
We meet at the far end of the grassed area that is to the right of the Grange Beach jetty just prior to 8pm (look for the purple banner of the Temple of the Dark Moon) and will head down to the foreshore in honour of Yemaya, the Queen of the Rivers, Seas and Oceans shortly after 8pm.
This information rite will commence around 8:30pm where we ask for Yemaya’s blessings of all the world’s waterways, sea creatures, and all other beings that fall under Her protection.
Please bring an ecologically friendly offering to Yemaya (ie, flower, sea shell crystal, stone etc) that will be thrown into the ocean.
The wearing of white clothing or a head scarf is encouraged.
Participants will also be invited to share in a libation of watermelon (Yemaya’s favourite food).
Cost: Gold coin/loose change donation for charity.
Children are welcome however they are the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians and need to show respect to other attendees.
