GREETINGS and WELCOME

Welcome to the web page of the Temple of the Dark Moon. We are an active "progressive" Alexandrian coven located just 20 minutes north of Adelaide's CBD in South Australia. We follow the initiatory degree system found within traditional Wicca as well as other ethics central to this religious and spiritual path. We also include other spiritual and magickal practices within our workings in order to assist with the individual spiritual growth of each member.

Amongst the pages of our web site, we offer some general introductory information about Paganism, and in particular how it relates to Wicca, as well as information specifically connected to the Southern Hemisphere.

If you are new to, or would like to find out some more information about Wicca and Paganism in general, we recommend you read Paganism: Different Religion, Similar Belief and Is Wicca the right Spiritual Path for Me?

We also recommend reading Teachers of the Craft from Witches Voice if you are looking for a Wiccan teacher/mentor as it provides some good advice for the novice seeker. Similarly, you can contact our High Priestess via the contact details given below.

BEALTAINE OVERNIGHT RETREAT

Over the weekend of 30 and 31 October 2010, the Temple of the Dark Moon will be hosting a magickal retreat deep within the beautiful Mt Crawford forest.

Welcome in the Southern Summer by dancing around the Maypole, meeting elementals in the forest, as well as making a special Bealtaine talisman to capture the spirit of the Sabbat. There will also be plenty of opportunity to explore the glorious surrounds of where we will be staying, as well as time to relax and recharge with the aid of Mother Nature.

This Sabbat celebration will be family orientated, with the activities and ritual starting mid afternoon.

Limited day passes will also be available - these will include the feast that will follow the ritual.

Registrations are now being taken and a registration flyer containing more information, together with registration form, can be downloaded here.

Registrations close Saturday, 9 October 2010

OPEN LECTURES

On selected Saturdays throughout 2010 the Temple of the Dark Moon will be offering a variety of practical magickal and spiritual lectures. A brochure containing more information about the workshop together with registration form can be downloaded here.

  • 4 September 2010: PLANETARY MAGICK - While using various ceremonial magickal techniques, the aim of this lecture is a practical one – to assist in the exploration of the various planets, their energies and how to bring this together in ritual workings. Some prior knowledge of ceremonial magick would be beneficial, it is not essential to gain full benefit from this practical workshop. Registrations close: 27 August 2010.

  • 2 October 2010: RETURN OF THE DARK GODDESS - This inter-active yet informative workshop will include looking at as well as working with six different aspects of the Dark Goddess - Durga and Kali-Ma from the Hindu tradition, the Egyptian lion headed Goddess, Sekhmet, the death Goddess Ereshkigal from ancient Sumeria; Tiamat, the Babylonian serpent of the deep; and Cerridwen, the Celtic keeper of the sacred cauldron of rebirth. A brochure containing more information, together with registration form, can be downloaded here. Registrations close: 22 September 2010.

  • 13 November 2010: ESOTERIC NUMEROLOGY - This informative lecture helps to explore and discover the hidden secrets contained within birth names and dates of birth.
