For the Seeker

The Temple of the Dark Moon is a faced-to-face “progressive” Alexandrian based coven located on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people, just 20 minutes north of Adelaide’s CBD in South Australia. We follow the initiatory degree system found within contemporary (traditional, initiatory) witchcraft as well as other ethics central to this spiritual path, with the emphasis being placed on the Southern Hemisphere.  We also include other spiritual and magical practices within our workings in order to assist with the individual spiritual growth and magical awareness of each member.

Following a spiritual path in the modern age can be a challenge at the best of time, yet necessary if we desire to embrace all that is offered to us within this life time.  Magick is naturally around us, interweaving all aspects of our life.  It always has been and will always continue to be so.  We have just forgotten our way, not to mention the ability to weave the magick into the mundane and back again.

Awareness into this mystical magical realm can occur at any time and to anyone.  A seeker do not need to join a group or undergo specific training to assess this realm.  However, what training does offer is a more reliable and longer lasting (and even deeper) experience, coupled with guidance and knowledge often gained through personal experience.

We are mindful of the words of the Goddess whose advises us within the lines of the “Charge of the Goddess” to …

Keep pure your highest ideals; strive ever towards them,
let naught stop you nor turn you aside.

To all prospective students of the Temple of the Dark Moon, and indeed to anyone who wishes to follow the path of the contemporary wytchcraft, we ask:

  • What are YOUR purest ideal?
  • What is the desire in YOUR heart, your Highest Self?
  • Are you following your own purest ideal, or is ego getting in the way?

Following a more traditional initiatory, not to mention hierarchical, style of witchcraft is not for everyone because it demands a certain degree of skills, including dedication, humility, and trust, not only in the teacher and in the material that is being taught.  This in itself relates to the concept of perfect love and perfect trust, which, sadly, can be misunderstood and even misused in our modern age.

The Temple of the Dark Moon offers a variety of training for those who are interested in learning our ways, or who wish to gain a deeper connection with the world around them through the ancient earth-centric mysteries.  For genuine seekers to the arte magicka, we offer The Wytch’s Circle, with the next intake will not be taking place until the spring of 2021.

In the interim, we encourage seekers and proposed neophytes to take a look at the other workshops and courses being offered by the Temple of the Dark Moon, some of which are listed on the right hand side of this page, in particular the Gathering around the Cauldron, which is anticipated to commence sometime in early to mid 2021.
